Super Green Pesto – From Garden to Plate!
Pesto is a fantastic way to get fussy eaters involved in the full farm-to-plate experience. From growing and picking the basil to blending up this vibrant green sauce, kids can take ownership of the process making them much more likely to give it a try! Plus, herbs are nutritional powerhouses, packed with concentrated vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This simple, delicious pesto is a great way to introduce new flavors while boosting their nutrient intake. Serve it on pasta, spread it on sandwiches, or use it as a dip for veggies—however they eat it, it’s a win!

1 Oven / grill
- 2 tbsp Pinenuts
- 2 cup Basil fresh
- 0.5 cup Parmesan
- 0.5 tsp Sea salt
- 0.25 tsp Black pepper
- 2 clove Garlic
- 7 tbsp Olive oil
Preheat the grill and carefully roast the pinenuts for a couple of minutes - be very careful not to burn them. Watch like a hawk!
Add all the ingredients except the olive oil to the food processor. Pulse on high speed until everything is finely chopped.
Add the oil and blitz again.
Store in fridge in a jar with a layer of olive oil over the top to keep the oxygen off the pesto.
