
Super Green Pesto – From Garden to Plate!
Pesto is a fantastic way to get fussy eaters involved in the full farm-to-plate experience. From growing and picking the basil to blending up this vibrant green sauce, kids can take ownership of the process making them much more likely to give it a try! Plus, herbs are nutritional powerhouses, packed with concentrated vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This simple, delicious pesto is a great way to introduce new flavors while boosting their nutrient intake. Serve it on pasta, spread it on sandwiches, or use it as a dip for veggies—however they eat it, it’s a win!

- 1 Food processor
- 1 Oven / grill
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Pinenuts
- 2 cup Basil fresh
- 0.5 cup Parmesan
- 0.5 tsp Sea salt
- 0.25 tsp Black pepper
- 2 clove Garlic
- 7 tbsp Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the grill and carefully roast the pinenuts for a couple of minutes – be very careful not to burn them. Watch like a hawk!
- Add all the ingredients except the olive oil to the food processor. Pulse on high speed until everything is finely chopped.
- Add the oil and blitz again.
- Store in fridge in a jar with a layer of olive oil over the top to keep the oxygen off the pesto.
