
Tummy loving stewed apples
Whats not to love about stewed apples for fussy eaters. Children with poor oral motor skills (i.e the kids that can't chew well) don't have to miss out on apples. You just need to cook them first. Skin on is more nutritious, butter if your fussy eater will get turned off by this, peel them. Apples are high in prebiotic fibre, which means they feed your child's good gut bacteria – hello happy poo and happy child. Cinnamon is great for kids who get hangry – it balances our blood sugar. It also helps with digestion, but feel free to omit if your child isn't ready but big flavours

Ingredients
- 600 g Red apples such as Gala or Pink lady varieties
- 0.25 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Water
Instructions
- Peel and core the apples. Note: You can leave the apple peel; it adds beneficial nutrients. Please be aware, though, the red peel will stain the apple flesh when stewing.
- Cut the apple into wedges or bite-size pieces.
- Place the apple with the cinnamon and water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer then cover the pan with a lid and cook until apple is soft and translucent; about 10-15 minutes.
- Spoon into bowls and serve warm or pop in the fridge to chill.
- Store any leftovers in the fridge.
